BE THE CHANGE

The flooding in Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky this week left a metropolitan region of over 1 million people struggling to regain some sense of stability. With record depths of 22-feet in some areas, an estimated $1 billion worth of damage in Nashville alone, and many victims lacking flood insurance, people are counting almost solely on our volunteer aide.
While most people feel understandably helpless to aide people during natural disasters, there's a lot that you can do to lend a hand - as Mahatma Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." Stop by the Hands on Nashville website for information about ways you can volunteer your time. Or, if you're not able to volunteer, text "REDCROSS" to 90999, to send a $10 donation (that will be included on your cell phone bill) to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Check out the Red Cross website to see if your cellphone is on a participating carrier. It only takes a couple minutes to find out how you can help.
