SLAUTER XSTROYES: A QUARTER-CENTURY OF ROCK

Twenty-five years ago, Chicago-based metal band Slauter Xstroyes released 500 copies of their debut album, Winter Kill. At the time, the little-known band had no idea that their first album would become the stuff of metal legends. As years passed Winter Kill came to be regarded as an epic metal masterpiece, and copies of the original limited release became "holy grail (of) metal vinyl ultra-rarities." Realizing how coveted their debut had become, Slauter Xstroyes made it a little easier on fans old and new and re-released Winter Kill on CD in 2009.

To celebrate their long-awaited notoriety, the band has reformed and will play a set of their beloved oldies as well as as new material at Metro this Friday, February 5.
