ROCK 'N' RAISE THIS VALENTINE'S DAY

You'll give your friend a few bucks for lunch and lend out a DVD that you know you'll never see again; but when it comes to giving to charity, sometimes we don't know where to start. I know that when I go to Jewel, a quick $5 donation to a local food pantry makes my Cheetos purchase seem a little more heroic, but sometimes it's not that easy. Now, the Chicago student coalition, Youth United for Darfur, is making a little heroic giving easy and totally fun with their new initiative Rock 'n' Raise.

This Valentine's Day, Rock 'n' Raise is hosting a benefit for the children of Darfur at Metro. What better way to spend the candy-coated sweet, Hallmark holiday than getting together with people you love to help raise money for people who need some love? You don't even have to ditch those romantic plans you have because the all ages event with Madina Lake, The Blisters, Big Science, and Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms starts at 4:30 pm. All proceeds for the night will be donated to the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program, so you can rock out for a good cause. Tickets are $10 for the show and are available now and at the door. There are also a limited number of VIP tables [4 tickets/4 seats] for $100. So grab your friends and move your feet for a good cause this February 14th.
