PUT YOUR CHICAGO LOVE INTO SONG

How much do you love that crisp Chicago skyline and cool (albeit sometimes freezing) lake? Despite our many squabbles with our beloved Windy City, (the -15 degree Januaries for example) we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. So now we want to know: do you love Chicago so much that you could write a song about it? I mean, Sufjan Stevens and Kanye have already done it, so why not you?

The Chicago Public Library (CPL) thinks that you can and is looking for the next great Chicago tune. The CHIPUBLIB Sound Off Competition will find one lucky winner who will get to headline the CHIPUBLIB Sound Off music event. Here they will play a set that will include their winning entry. Not only that, but the Grand Prize winner will also get a studio package at Electrical Audio. Pretty cool if we do say so ourselves.

Chicago will get to choose a winning finalist online who gets to open up for the Grand Prize winner at the Sound Off event; so make sure to check the CPL Tumblr account for more information on voting and entering a song of your own. And make sure to visit your local CPL branch to find new music for the fall. They have CDs available for check-out and a new online download section coming soon.
