NEW RELEASE: THE HOLD STEADY LIVE CD & DOCUMENTARY

The Hold Steady have done alright for themselves since busting out of Brooklyn in 2003. Now, with a few major festivals, some world tours and a loyal fan base under their belts, these boys are doing what any self-respecting indie band would do: release a documentary slash live CD. The CD/DVD combo titled A Positive Rage drops April 7th and besides including a documentary that follows the band during their 2006 tour, guess what? The live set was recorded right here at Metro on Halloween 2007! The CD will feature 17 tracks from the show (see Pitchfork for the full track list) plus five bonus jams if you pick up the enhanced version.

Next stop for The Hold Steady? Rumor has it that before heading out on the With the War on Drugs Tour, they'll be making an appearance at Rachel Ray's SXSW party. EVOOMG!
