GANG OF CANADIANS

Hey, when a band calls their latest album Gang Of Losers, the jokes are pretty much there and waiting. Not much we can do about it...or is there? No, there's not. But Canada's The Dears have every right to name their album in a self-depreciation kinda way even if they are far from a "gang of losers." The band has stayed the course over the past ten years and recently signed with white hot Toronto label Arts & Crafts, home to such acts as Broken Social Scene, Stars and Feist. So, The Dears can call themselves whatever they want when they play here on Friday, December 8, but they're certainly in good company and we'll make sure to rub their backs and feet to make them feel better about everything. Another newly signed Arts & Crafts band, Young Galaxy, opens the show and Chicago do-gooders Canasta play right before The Dears. Everybody wins!
