THE BEAUTY AND BEATS OF DJ LA*JESUS

Chicago has always had some bright and inspiring characters. Now we can add DJ LA*Jesus (aka Nate Euhus) to that list. Although tonight's show with Islands will be his first time spinning DJ sets at Metro, LA*Jesus is no stranger to the stage. The birth of this Jesus came to be at a Flaming Lips concert in Chicago in May of 2003. LA*Jesus invited himself up onstage that night and quickly found himself part of the band's show, joining the Lips' regular assortment of people in wild and colorful costumes. LA*Jesus continued to show up at various Lips shows around the country, as well as other shows in Chicago (The M's, Beulah, Super Furry Animals), and from there a new star was born. However, it wasn't until 2005 that the DJ part came into play as a way for Nate to expand on his new alter ego. Cool costume + Catchy name + DJ skills = DJ*LA Jesus.
