This week, we present Kelly Wey, one of our beloved bartenders. If you’ve ever bought a drink at Metro, you’ve probably bought it from Kelly, one of our longest serving bartenders in the building. We recently asked Kelly about her Metro memories.
What do you do at Metro?
I’m a bartender and regular "squeaky wheel"… just ask the managers!
How long have you worked at Metro?
I've been at metro for 11 (yes, ELEVEN) years! Although, there was a two year sabbatical to Michigan in there somewhere.
What is your favorite Metro memory?
So many memories, so little time...Bob Dylan, The Pretenders, Queens of the Stone Age (each and every time), New Years Eve with The Flaming Lips (Geez-o-pete! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!), Smashing Pumpkins with Cheap Trick, The Strokes with Moldy Peaches (once we FINALLY opened!)...like I said, soooo many! Although still waiting for one - The Wrens (Note to booking: My birthday is right around the corner!) Oh, and how can I forget! Smartbar PROM 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. Too much fun for one night!

What’s something people don’t know about you?
Hmmmm. Something no one knows about me… I once bought a bengal tiger. Yes, I know, stupid, stupid, stupid on so many levels! I was young!!!!!
