THE HIDEOUT 10th ANNIVERSARY BLOCK PARTY CELEBRATES THE TOUCH & GO 25th ANNIVERSARY

Lots of anniversary action going on this weekend as one of our favorite Chicago venues, The Hideout, teams up with one of our favorite Chicago record labels, Touch & Go. The three day celebration (Sept. 8-10) includes thirty-three acts, all of which come from the Touch & Go artist roster. Highlights include a "few songs" by the legendary Big Black, a Man...Or Astroman? set featuring the original line-up, Killdozer, Girls Against Boys, Shellac, !!!, Calexico, as well as some of the newbies to the label, Ted Leo + Pharmacists and Supersystem. This is history in the making, kids. And more importantly, all the proceeds benefit Tuesday's Child, Literacy Works, and the Thomas Drummond Elementary School. Old school, D.I.Y., indie...whatever you call it, it's a good thing for Chicago and we congratulate both parties in reaching their milestones.
